Activation and License Consumption
How Licenses are Consumed
An Assess license is consumed upon import to either Blueprint Analyze or Blueprint Migrate.
A Migrate license is consumed upon activation and export of the Main process (blue shaded box) within an RPA process. In the example below, exporting this process titled UiPath Sample 1 will consume one Blueprint license, as there is one main (titled Test) within the file. All associated sub-processes will be packaged up in the export, but will not consume additional licenses.
Activating Blueprint Processes
1. Activate Individually
Blueprint Processes can be activated one at a time by hitting the blue Activate button at the top of the Process Editor when the process is open.
2. Activate in Bulk on Export (recommended)
- Select a project, folder, or process in the Explorer
- Click the Export button in the top right of the Main Content Area
- Select Export to Power Automate Desktop
- In the dialog box, the user will be given the option to Activate any processes that have not yet been activated. This method ensures that only those processes that are to be exported and migrated will consume licenses.
3. Activate in Bulk via Descendants View
- Select a project or folder in the Explorer
- Click the Artifact Editor button in the top right of the Main Content Area and select Descendants (View). The contents of the project or folder selected is listed
- Check the box of all processes that should be Activated
- Click Actions at the top left of the table view and select Activate Digital Blueprint to activate all items selected
4. Activate in Bulk on Import (not recommended)
Once enabled by your site Administrator, there is also an option to automatically activate all processes as they are imported to Blueprint. This is recommended only for organizations with Unlimited Licenses or if it is certain that all imported processes will be migrated and exported to Power Automate, and thus will consume licenses regardless.
To enable this feature:
- Click the hamburger menu in the top left
- Select Settings
- Expand Advanced Settings
- Select Instance Settings
- Expand the Import & Export menu
- Check the box to Automatically Activate Digital Blueprints (RPA process files) upon Import.
