Instance Settings

Through Blueprint Settings, Instance Administrators can define a variety of instance-wide as well as project-specific settings.

Accessing Instance Settings

  1. In Settings, expand RPA Management and expand Advanced Settings
  2. Select Instance Settings
  3. Modify your desired setting and click Save

User Preference

Blueprint allows Instance Administrators to set a default landing page upon a user's login to Blueprint. The options displayed will depend upon your organization's license model.


Password Management

  • *Enable Password Recovery: Controls an end user's ability to reset their own password (i.e., "forgot password" functionality). If enabled, users will see a "Forgot my password" link in the sign-in dialog. Enabled by default.Requires configuration of outgoing mail settings and user account email addresses to function
  • Unusable Previous Passwords: Defines the number of previous password iterations that can't be used. For example, a value of 10 will prevent a user from using one of their last 10 passwords again upon change/reset
    • (Default) 10
    • Minimum: 0 (Disabled)
    • Maximum: 100
  • Password Change Cooldown: Defines the length of time (in hours) that must pass after a password change/reset before a user can change/reset their password again
    • (Default) 24
    • Minimum: 0 (Disabled)
    • Maximum: 999
  • Enable Password Expiration: (Enabled by default). Controls whether user account password expiration is enabled/disabled
  • Password Expiration: Defines the length of time (in days) that a password can be used before it must be changed
    • (Default) 90
    • Minimum: 1 (Cannot be less than "Notify Before Password Expires" value, if set)
    • Maximum: 999
  • *Notify Before Password Expires: Defines the number of days before a user's password expires when the system sends them a notification email
    • (Default) 7
    • Minimum: 0 (Disabled)
    • Maximum: 999

Account Lockout

  • Lockout Mode: Controls whether account lockout functionality is enabled (permanent or temporary modes) or disabled
    • Off: Feature is disabled
    • (Default) Permanent: The account must be unlocked manually by an administrator
    • Temporary: The account is automatically unlocked after a defined length of time
  • Lockout Threshold: Defines the number of failed sign-ins that must occur before an account is locked out
    • (Default) 5
    • Minimum: 1
    • Maximum: 1,000
  • Lockout Threshold Reset: Defines the length of time (in minutes) before the lockout threshold is reset. Sign-in failures will reset this timer
    • (Default) 1000
    • Minimum: 1
    • Maximum: 1,000
  • Temporary Lockout Duration: If Lockout Mode is set to Temporary, defines the length of time (in minutes) before a user account is systematically unlocked
    • (Default) 30
    • Minimum: 1
    • Maximum: 1,000

Session Management

  • Inactivity Timeout: Controls the amount of time a user can remain inactive before the session is terminated
    • (Default) 120 minutes
  • Maximum Session Lifetime: Controls the amount of time a session remains active, regardless of activity
    • (Default): 360 minutes
    • (Disabled): 0 minutes

Notifications

  • (Default: On) Welcome Email for New Users: Controls whether welcome emails are sent to new users upon account creation. Enabled by default.
    • Welcome Email Custom Text: Defines custom text (plain text only) that can be added to the end of welcome emails.
Requires configuration of outgoing mail settings and user account email addresses to function.

File Upload Restrictions

  • File Types Setting: Defines file type upload/attachment restrictions
    • (Default) Allow All File Types: Files of any type can be uploaded
    • Allow No File Types (Disable File Uploads): File upload is disabled
    • Allow Only Whitelisted File Types: File types must be added to the allow list
  • File Types Whitelist: A multi-select dropdown list of pre-configured file types which can be used to limit the types of files which can be uploaded
    • (Default) JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, PDF, DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPT, PPTX, TXT, VSDX, VSD

Attachments

  • Max File Size: Defines the maximum file size (in MB) of a single attachment
    • (Default) 10
    • Minimum: 0.1
    • Maximum: 1,024
  • Max Attachments: Defines the maximum number of files that can be attached to a single artifact
    • (Default) 50
    • Minimum: 1
    • Maximum: 1,000

Move & Copy

  • Move Artifact Limit: Defines the maximum number of artifacts that can be moved at once.
    • (Default) 400
    • Minimum: 1
    • Maximum: 2,000
  • Copy Artifact Limit: Defines the maximum number of artifacts that can be copied at once.
    • (Default) 100
    • Minimum: 1
    • Maximum: 1,000

Processes

  • Max Process Shapes: Defines the maximum number of shapes allowed in a Process artifact.
    • (Default) 10,000
    • Minimum: 1
    • Maximum: 10,000
  • Max Process Shapes to Display: Defines the maximum number of shapes that can be displayed in a Process artifact. If the number of shapes in an artifact exceeds the value, the artifact will not be rendered and displayed, but users may still modify its metadata.
    • (Default) 1,000
    • Minimum: 1
    • Maximum: 2,000
  • Max Mockup File Size: Defines the maximum file size (in MB) of a mockup allowed to be added to a Process artifact.
    • (Default) 7
    • Minimum: 0.1
    • Maximum: 7
  • Max Process Shapes: Defines the maximum number of shapes allowed in a Process artifact.
    • (Default) 10,000
    • Minimum: 1
    • Maximum: 10,000

Global Actions

  • Enable Discard All: A button is displayed to allow the user to Discard All unpublished changes at once
    • (Default) Off

Instance Maintenance

  • Permanently Delete Artifacts: Deleted Blueprint artifacts are permanently deleted and become unrecoverable. If this feature is enabled, SQL Server Agent Daily/Weekly Maintenance jobs will be triggered at 1AM. Any items deleted from the UI previously will be deleted permanently during this time and indexes will be rebuilt.
    • (Default) Enabled
    • Disabled: Deleted Blueprint artifacts are deleted from the UI and are recoverable from the database if needed. Users are directed to contact Blueprint Support for assistance.
