Bulk Reimport/Recalculate

Updated by Sean Ellner

After upgrading to a new Blueprint version, we strongly advise users to reimport (acts as a refresh) their processes to leverage Blueprint's latest mappings and enhancements.

Similarly, for users planning to utilize the Estimator Dashboard, it is highly recommended to recalculate their processes to obtain estimates based on the newest data.

Blueprint offers users the ability to reimport and/or recalculate entire projects in bulk.

Accessing Bulk Reimport/Recalculate

Open the Tools dropdown in the main header and select Bulk Reimport/Recalculate. This will open a wizard to guide you through the Bulk Reimport and/or Recalculation process.

Using Bulk Reimport/Recalculate

Reimport and Recalculation are done at Project level.
Only Instance Admins can schedule a Bulk Reimport/Recalculation job.

Blueprint will automatically identify all projects that are candidates for reimport or recalculation.

Reimport Candidates

A project is flagged as a candidate for Reimport if:

  1. The project contains RPA processes that were imported on an older version of Blueprint

AND

  1. Additional mappings for that source RPA tool were added in the latest release
Recalculate Candidates

A project is flagged as a candidate for Recalculation if:

  1. The project has never been calculated before

OR

  1. User performance any of the following actions for a project that was previously estimated
    1. Deletes artifacts
    2. Cross project artifact move
    3. Move inside project
    4. Additional imports to project

Reimport and Replace vs. Reimport and Keep

Users will have the option to bulk Reimport and Replace or Reimport and Keep projects.

Admin Options

Instance Admins will have the option to toggle whether Reimport and Keep is visible in the Bulk Reimport/Recalculate menu. To enable Reimport and Keep:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Expand RPA Management
  3. Select Migrate
  4. Enable Bulk Reimport/Calc: Show 'Reimport and Keep' option

Reimport and Keep is toggled OFF by default.

Reimport and Replace

  • This is the default and recommended option.
  • Will reimport the selected project as a new project. After a successful reimport, the now outdated, original project will be deleted.

Reimport and Keep

  • Will reimport the selected project as a new project. The now outdated, original project can be kept for reference. This is only recommended for users with smaller estates, as this may eventually fill up the database with obsolete/outdated processes.
Obsolete Projects

If 'Reimport and Keep' was selected, the original project is flagged as "obsolete". As a result, it no longer appears as a candidate for reimport or recalculation due to the existence of a newer version.

Reimport AND Recalculation

When Reimporting, users can also choose to Recalculate as well. Select this option if you plan on using Estimator Dashboards with your reimported data.

Recalculation option will be hidden if Enable Estimator Dashboard is unchecked

Recalculation

Users will have the option to Bulk Recalculate projects.

Projects flagged for only recalculation can only be recalculated, not reimported.

Jobs

In the Jobs page, user can cancel the Primary Reimport/Calculation Controller job if necessary.
