If you would like to preserve the concept of VBOs after conversion to PAD, there is a feature in Blueprint that supports this. The feature is a single action that does the following:

  • Exports each action within the VBO as an individual PAD flow that can be reused by any other flows. This is similar to how a VBO action can be invoked by any Blue Prism process.
  • Applies a tag to each of these PAD flows with the name of the VBO. Then, using a filter in the PAD application, you can see all actions for that VBO. This is similar to how the Object Editor in Blue Prism shows you all actions within the VBO.
  • Creates Reuse Rules for each of the VBO actions so that future conversions of processes/objects that use those VBO actions will automatically reference the PAD flows.

To use this feature:

  1. In the Project Explorer select and activate the root process of the VBO, if not already activated. This is the process that has the name of the VBO, and is the parent of all the VBO actions.
  2. Choose Export > Export As VBO
  3. Hit "Continue" in the confirmation modal, then choose other desired options for export when presented

This will create an export job that creates the tagged PAD flows for each VBO action, and creates the associated Reuse Rules for each action.
